Four months after its initial opening in July of this year, Homy Electronics Mega Stores, one of Eastern Region's newest and largest electronics store, is now geared up for its grand opening on November 29,2008.
The showroom's grand opening have been decided after the completion of all necessary preparations, trainings and testing procedures for its systems and staff. Preparations carried out during this four-month long grounding period include the development and testing of the Point of Sale (POS) system, further expansion of the existing product line, organizing the display area, training of sales, logistics and service staff and preparation of promotional materials for consumer awareness.
The POS system was developed to assist the sales staff in the carrying out day to day sales and assures fast, accurate and fully documented transactions for all orders made in the showroom. The said system shall integrate with the accounting department's existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) software called Microsoft Dynamic AX that is the company's electronic data processing (EDP) system for accounting, inventory and storage transactions and monitoring program.
Additional products have been added to Homy's existing product lines making its showroom even more extensive in terms of choices of product models and brands. New products recently added to Homy's inventory are room heaters and security systems and appliance and electronic models recently released within the first half of the year from Homy's partner brands around the world.
Existing patrons of Homy will take notice of improvements to the showroom's organization of its merchandise. While the original layout of the showroom has already proven to be conducive to fast and easy shopping the management had it further improved in order to make it even more efficient and in order to accommodate the POS stalls where POS terminals shall be installed.
One of the major concerns of the management is the effectiveness of the sales, service and logistics staff in promoting sales and responding to customer concerns. The four-month trial run served as training module for all its staff and have prepared each of them for the showroom's actual operation making sure the company will be able to meet customer satisfaction at all times.
Lastly, promotional materials have been produced and much of the promo materials and advertisement media have been distributed and posted throughout its targeted areas. These printed and digital promotional materials include brochures, billboards, short documentary films, internet ads and the feature article that will appear in the New York Times tabloid and its website.
